This module is a summary of the Block Party Full Module. The dysrhythmias and AV Blocks are discussed for nurses who feel confident about cardiac dysrhythmias and who are looking for a refresher. This course has the goal of facilitating knowledge and confidence in the care of the patient who requires cardiac monitoring.
TARGET audience
This module is designed for nurses who are currently working with patients who require cardiac monitoring and who are looking for a refresher in cardiac dysrhythmias and AV Blocks.
Objectives
*Link the electrocardiograph tracing to the anatomy and physiology of
the heart
*Discuss the arrhythmias in relation to their origin
*Briefly describe Defibrillation/ Cardioversion/Pacemakers
*Describe indications and contraindications for various antiarrhythmic medications
*Integrate cardiac assessment techniques and critical thinking ability by
the use of presented case scenarios
